Read These 5 Tips To Take Advantage from 60 Sod Roller Carolina Attachments

Sod is a popular choice for many homeowners and commercial landscaping projects. It is best installed quickly and with care to prevent any problems such as heaving or long running seams.

Rolling newly laid sod can help the roots make contact with the soil and remove any air pockets. Water your sod well after rolling.

1. Size

Sod is a living plant that requires adequate care and attention during its establishment. Soil preparation and final grading should be complete before sod is unrolled, as heat buildup in the soil can damage the sod. Soil should be lightly irrigated to wet the root zone before and during sodding. Sod should be laid immediately after harvesting and delivery, ideally within 48 hours, and should not be stored more than 48 hours. It should be rolled to provide firm contact between roots and soil, and all edges must be staggered in a brick-like pattern without stretching (Figure 6.12b).

Sod recommendations can vary by region. In North Carolina, sod choices include Kentucky bluegrass, tall fescue, or a mix of these and other species such as zoysiagrass, fine-turf bermudagrass, centipedegrass, or St. Augustinegrass. Sodded areas should be kept moist to a depth of 4 inches until the sod is firmly rooted, usually 2-3 weeks.

2. Weight

Unlike grass installed as seed or sprigs, sod comes in pre-installed pallets that you install into your lawn piece by piece. A standard pallet has between 400-700 sq. ft. of sod and can weigh up to 3,000 lbs.

A 60″ SOD ROLLER | CAROLINA ATTACHMENTS is used to help roll down and settle your newly laid sod in a grid-like pattern. This helps sod roots make contact with soil and removes air pockets. A well-rolled sod lawn will be less prone to wind and water runoff during heavy rains.

The Lackender by ECS Sod Roller skid steer attachment is designed to carry and lay rolls of sod for lawn renovations and new construction projects. It handles sod in fiber or plastic-cored rolls up to 48″ wide and 60″ in diameter.

When choosing the right sod roller for your job, check the weight and hydraulic flow rating of the attachment. You don’t want to overload your machine and risk damaging the attachment or your equipment. The Sod Roller is powder coated for added protection against the elements. This is especially important if you plan on using the attachment outdoors where the weather can be harsh on your equipment.

3. Style

The style of the attachment affects how easy it is to use and how well it holds up over time. Some attachments have a smoother finish than others, which can make it easier to maneuver the roller. You also want to be sure that the attachment is designed for your specific type of work.

If you are planting new sod, it’s important to do so quickly and carefully crewlogout. Fresh sod is a delicate plant that needs to be planted and installed correctly to give it the best chance of growing and becoming established before the cold South Carolina winter. It’s best to lay sod in the fall, when it will be warm enough and still have plenty of rain.

After you’ve laid the sod, roll it in a grid-like pattern to help the roots make contact with the soil and remove air pockets. Then, water the lawn thoroughly, both to fill in gaps and ensure that the sod is adequately rooted. Be sure to keep the lawn damp until it is fully rooted, which may take up to two weeks.

4. Warranty

For those who need to lay down rolls of sod during a lawn renovation or new construction project, the Sod Roller skid steer attachment is the perfect tool. Designed for rolls up to 48″ wide and 60″ in diameter, this attachment can handle fiber- or plastic-cored sod. It also requires minimal hydraulics to operate and features a tubular frame with automatic braking for smooth, controlled handling while unrolling.

When using the Sod Roller, it is important to roll your sod in a grid-like pattern after laying it. This helps to make sure that the sod roots come in contact with the soil and removes air pockets. Then, it’s important to keep your sod damp for about a week or until it is fully rooted in the ground.

The warranty on all Carolina Attachments attachments (excluding economy series) lasts for 12 months from the date of purchase. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. However, this warranty does not cover any freight or delivery charges incurred when returning the attachment for servicing. It also does not cover damage caused by misuse, negligence or accident beyond the machine’s recommended rated capacity.
